Canadian Forces Base Suffield is a 1,000 square mile facility located 56 km northwest of Medicine Hat. This training area is shared with the British Army Training Unit [BATUS]. CFB Suffield is the largest testing area for advanced weapons technology and military robotics applications. These combined activities contribute $120 million per year to the local economy through payrolls in military and civilian personnel and purchases of goods and services.
